The birth of my children. My wedding day. And I know that the birth of this baby will be another. :)

The day we stood in that foreign court and through the interpreter learned that our adoption was granted. Zero to three children in less than an hour of court time.

Kids is a big one here, it seems.

Most amazing: The birth of my first child ("TWTCommish" to you guys). I stared at him flailing his little arms on the bed, and he stared at me. He STARED at me, and blinked.

I must've looked shocked because my mom said, "Linda, are you okay? What's wrong?"

I said, "He has a face!"

She looked at the midwife (probably worried that I had indeed lost a BIT too much blood), and I added, "I pictured this moment over and over, but I never had a FACE to picture. And, here he is."

(sniffle) NOTHING like holding a baby and "meeting" him or her for the first time. All four of them brought that same sense of wondrous meeting -- of knowing them and yet getting to know them at the same time. All with different faces, voices, cries....

******

Second happiest: When my hubby and I got married. I look at our wedding pictures and still get all teared up 1.5 years later. What a happy turn of events for me -- a constant reminder of how gracious and kind and merciful and healing God is.

Here's a link directly to my FAVORITE photo of the two of us, taken just after the "You may now kiss the bride" thing:

BABIES {blueblob} BABIES {blueblob} Each and every one of them!!! I LOVED giving birth and the moment you meet that new "little person"!! My wedding day was not as great as the day we renewed our vows for our tenth anniversary! All our kiddos were there (and my grandaughter) and the words meant SO MUCH MORE in light of the fact that after ten years I KNEW beyond a shadow of a doubt that I married the most WONDERFUL man in the world!!! (really) Oh and the epidurals really made the births that much more wonderful!! Also watching my daughter give birth to my three grandaughters was fabulous! {bawling} And watching three hundred and some other babies come into the world when I worked labor and delivery.......oh never mind I am getting off track now!! {blush}

When our little girl was born, she was taken straight to the NICU. We didn't get to hold her for days. It was a very strange feeling. We were rejoicing to have a child, but we were scared beyond belief that she wouldn't live. She spent 12 weeks in the NICU.

The two happiest moments for me were....The day I married my childhood sweetheart...thought it would never happen!....and The day I graduated from college.
The reason I chose that day is because, for me to get to that place in life, took so much time, time I didn't really have, so much effort and so much sacrafice...I thought I'd never make it. I was a single mom, with a part time job, part time school, lived alone w/ six little kids', different babysitter every week...etc...whew...seemed almost impossible. Somehow I managed to get through with all A's too!
The day I graduated, I cried for about 3 hours straight...simply because I just couldn't believe that after everything....everything....I finally did it!
That was definitely one of the best days of my entire life...I don't think it could ever be matched!

I think everyone can guess for me it would also be the days my children were born...that answer is getting kind of tired though....so I went with something different.

Well we don't have kids, but it sure was great to read everyone's stories. There sure is a lot of joy in those posts! Great idea for a thread momofmany! :)

Let's see - the day I realized Bill and I had a good, strong marriage. That both of us were really so much in love with each other, we both could just relax and enjoy the marriage, without the fear of it failing hanging over our heads. {love}

When I turned 18 and got custody of my younger brother. :)

When I worked in the aftermath of a disaster and helped with the rescue efforts of animals. I love animals, so anything to do with helping them is a happy day for me. :)

The day I accepted Jesus into my heart also was my happiest moment. Such a brand new, pure, happy, loved feeling I'd never experienced before. So simple, but so wonderful.

The "morning after" my husband and I were married is right up there too. It was great waking up together, first day of our lives together.

Then the kids . . . I enjoyed them so much as babies and little fellas, but they are such a joy as adults too.

I tellya, though, when you get my age every day is the happiest day. Starting to look at the downhill run and appreciating each one more and more! {pinky}
