I see there are NASCAR fans here – are there any F1 fans?

March 3rd is getting nearer, the drought is nearly over.. :)

Evidently no Formula 1 fans.

If it makes you feel better, if my brother-in-law's wife ever has a boy, he wants to name him after an F1 driver. He thinks NASCAR is for rednecks with all the negative baggage that goes with that. :)

Or the other F1 fans haven't seen this thread yet! :)

Awww Keithster, I'm a huge Nascar fan and I'm not a redneck! If we are, tell him he better watch out cuz there's something like 25 million of us! {toothy} Yee haw! Let's get us some of that corn-fed boy up thar!

Let me get my shotgun out of the back window of my pickup truck and clean it good 'n proper before we talk with that boy. Got any chewin' tobacca?

Funny thing is that I was fairly redneck growing up. I just didn't know it. :)

None?
Okay, I'll just sit in this corner over here and sulk.

Before I do though - which F1 driverr does your brother-in-law want to name his son after keithster?

*heads for corner*

*sulks*

Awww don't sulk. Karen and I were the only Nascar fans at another forum, for a loooong time before any other fans found the thread. You'll get some!

I did watch a race - but I'm thinking it was Indy? Not the same thing is it? It was the race where that guy was killed... where he lost control and the car rolled over and over. F1... what are F1's?

F1 is Formula One.

The rolling over and over incident sounds more like Indy.. when was it?

Last F1 deaths *touch wood* were at Imola in 1994 - Ratzenbrger and Senna.

It was an Indy car race, now that I think about it. It happend about 3 years ago. The guy lost control, hit a wall and then rolled over about 12 times.

I bet I know what "someone" is going to be watching today! {toothy}

Greg Moore, 31.10.99
If thats the one you mean, it was awful to watch... he had no chance. He was definitely a star that would have gone far.

And yep, I'll be tuned to F1, but technically it will be tomorrow for me. Timezone thing. :)
Go DC! :)

{mm}1 hour until the Australin Grand Prix is Go! Go! Go!*{mm}

My man qualified a disappointing 6th... but there are no point for qualifying. 10 points for the race win will be his...(:

*Borrowed from the King of Commentators. We love you Murray!

I've lasted five months F1 less - these last few hours are dragging though...

A track marshal lost his life today. :(
This is the second time in around seven months that an F1 trackside volunteer has died as the result of a racing incident.

May he RIP.

I watch Formula One everytime i can.
Sorry, that you had to wait such a long time, but I joined this forum 2 days ago.
As I said in my welcome message, I am from Germany and many people here watch F1.
Who is your favourite driver, Pamella?

I'm not a big race fan. I know a lot of people who are, however.

I support DC - have done since he entered the sport. It's been interesting at times. :p
I'm enjoying a brief respite from all the stick I've put up with over the years supporting him; as F1 friends are at last (albeit begrudgingly) admitting he might actually be able to drive. I guess as soon as the season settles down and Ferrari start dominating again, I'll be supporting him alone again. ;)

Who do you support?

I support Michael Schumacher and his brother Ralf.
But I also like DC.
I hope Michael Schumacher will win the next race, this weekend.

..and let's hope for a little more sanity in this race than the last one! What a mess that was - and still is. Michael Schumacher is facing a race ban from his actions in it; but I think that's only because they can't slap Alonso's wrists without at least looking like they'll tell Schumcher off too. I don't think Schumacher will get a ban - a fine maybe, but not a ban. Not so sure about Alonso, but he definitely deserves something that will make him put brain in gear next time.

M Schmacher is definitely due a change of luck; and he's not one to sit back and let a few bad results get to him. Michael has pole for tomorrow - let's see what he does with it. Ralf impresses me too - if DC were not around, he'd be one of the ones in contention for my support (I'm a one driver supporter, lol). Ralf has second - maybe he'll give his brother a run for his money? My guy is in twelth - he'd better have a lot of fuel on board!!!

Did you know the Schumacher's mother is in a coma in intensive care? I don't know what's going on there, but that must be distracting for them. Hope she's okay!
