Well, that was some introduction to the forum you gave me Chris...:D

I've finished arguing for several weeks... No more religion questions and I don't want to hear the word *b*r*i*n :)

I'm beginning this thread to officialy change the subject and turn to some serious stuff:

Which is the best ice-cream in your opinion?

I have a real dilemma: Haagen Daaz is incredibly smooth and has a wonderful texture, but Ben & Jerry is more interesting - I love all those chocolate and cookies and stuff they mix in.

What do you think? Any others you prefer?

Anat,

Oh yes. Haagen Daaz. Caramel is the ultimate.

Chunky Monkey can heal most woulds, but narly any brand of mint chocolate chip fixes anything wrong.

Green Tea Ice Cream is my fave of faves by far. :)

Green tea ice cream...?

I wonder if we get that one around here. Is it Haagen Daaz?

I always thought I'd be a military mom someday. But I left the army 3 months ago to get into the internet business. I now hope to be an internet mom :) The love of my life calls me "my dot com wife" :)

Hmmm...I'd have to go with Edy's Pittsburgh Steelers Crunch/Blitz (whatever they call it).

I live in Pittsburgh, and out here Edy's has a flavor of the aforementioned name...it's choclate, vanilla, and has little milk choclate footballs inside which have little bits of peanut butter inside them. My favorite ice cream, be it that flavor or another one, would likely have choclate and peanut butter inside somewhere.

I'm not much of a sweet eater, but when I do get in the mood, my favorite is chocolat chip from Thrifty. (Thrifty is a drug store). They are no longer in town, so when I do get the craving, I've been known to drive almost 300 miles for it. That sounds a bit extreme I agree, but it is worth it, especially since I only get the craving about once a year.

My family likes Haagen Daaz the best.

P.S. Anat, this is a good idea :)

Down here in Texas the big seller is Blue Bell Ice Cream. I'll have to say, however, that the best ice cream I ever had was the gelato at just about any stand in Italy. It was very creamy. I'm an old classics guy. I like chocolate and vanilla.

The following text is a JOKE and is only meant to annoy Anat:

When does the ice cream's life begin? Is it with the conception of the cow that gives forth the milk? The birth of the cow? The second the milk is mixed with the other ingredients? What is the primary component, the cream, the milk, or the flavoring?

If it melts: is it still ice cream? Is it wrong to throw your ice cream away, when there are so many others (myself included) who would love to care for it? How do you feel about a black person taking care of vanilla choclate that was given up on? What if the original owner wants the ice cream back? Should vanilla ice cream be under the ownership of a white person?

Should sugar-free ice cream be treated differently? What about the choclate inside: is is part of the ice cream, or simply a mix?

:D

LOL.

Chris - nothing in the world can annoy me today.... I am up in the clouds with happiness. Besides - I found the joke funny :D

I'm going to order food from the supermarket today - it's a real shame that they don't deliver ice cream home!

Have a super weekend (it's a regular workday over here...)

I just can't wait until we can order groceries online and get them the same day...that'll really be something.

Anat,

Green Tea Ice Cream is usually served at your more upscale Japanese restaurants. You gotta try it sometime!

Chris, Unseen2 and I both live in the 'burgh. I was born and raised here. Grew up in the South Hills area.

Small World, eh? :)

The Burgh! How 'bout 'dem Stillers? :D They're really something. Pirates suck, unfortunatly...did happen to score tickets to their final game at Three Rivers, though! Woohoo.

Breyers vanilla bean ice-cream had me hooked for years. I guess if I had to pick a favorite brand, that would be it. :)

They all taste the same to me...{yum}my!
I have no preference really, any kind will do me just fine. I'm kinda a plain fella so, vanilla or chocolate. Although...there was one kind I loved, like coco-coffee or something. It was most-excellent! {toothy}

Are we allowed to give more than one answer? Ice cream, just by virtue of it being ice cream, is desquishalicious. I'm definitely not the lactose-intolerant type! I love all kinds, but homemade, hand-cranked vanilla would have to be a the top of my list. Even better when eaten in front of a crackling fire in the dead of winter!

Next on my list would be Rocky Road (dark chocolate w/marshmallows and nuts), or maybe lime sherbert. I also love Cherry Garcia (Ben&Jerry's), and anything pecan praline is bound to make me drool. Fudge ripple can hit the spot, yet ice-cold Haagen-Daz chocolate/chocolate bars are fairly tastey. Dreamsicles and Bomb Pops are yummy too, and can't forget to mention ice cream sandwiches. Of course, soft-serve from Dairy Queen is also good...

Okay, okay! I admit it ... I love ice cream!

I had to quit eating ice cream so often because of lactose intolerance. Then I discovered God's gift to lactose-intolerant ice cream lovers--Lactaid. It really works. I can eat pizza also.

Here in Iowa we have a brand of ice cream called "Faulks" it is supposedly a secret recipe of two elderly sisters, anyway, it takes just like homemade icecream!!!! I am addicted to it!!!!!!!!!! There are several flavors but the best is the lemon custard!!!!! MMMMM MMMMMM ( I also love any brand of choc. chip mint)
