After you've gotten a Bible, what other books are good for a new believer? Recommend them here. Please give the title and author.

Max Anders has a "30 Days" series of books. The first one I recommend is 30 Days to Understanding What Christians Believe. It is very easy to read, and you simply spend 10-15 minutes a day for a month learning the basics.
Have you ever wished someone would explain to you in plain English what Christians believe about? (partial list)
The Bible
God
Christ
The Holy Spirit
Angels
Sin
Salvation
The Church
Prophecy
Suffering
Evangelism
Doing Good
Faith
Grace
Atonement
Redemption
Regeneration
Justification
Sanctification
Holiness
You can learn what all of these mean to Christians in just 30 days by reading this book.

A great daily e-mail for Christians is Daily Encounter at http://www.actsweb.org/
It's a Bible verse and a couple of paragraphs to help you relate it to life today, following with a short prayer.
Weekend Encounter is longer, with jokes and saying, links, and Bible readings.
They also do lots of other stuff, digi-tracts for new Christians, help pages, and more.
Having it in my In-box each day is great - I can't avoid or forget it!

A book I like is "The Life of Christ in a year" - I can't remember the author(s) but its published by CWR. You read a short section each day, and after a year you've "done" the life of Christ including the prophecies. Its well illustrated and explains all the things that modern people don't know automatically, like Jewish customs at the time, history, etc.
