The rain pouring down made me remember this one. We are on a slight ledge so when all the snow melts, or we get too much rain we get some runoff. Well with the warmth last week our driveway turned to mush and in the middle is a sinkhole. Which coincidently I sunk into Tuesday night! I was backing out, felt the back tire sink, but I thought I could just back out, felt the front sink, couldn't move it. Now, I have a short step anyway, small car, but when I went to step out I was level with the driveway! {eek} Hubby got me out, tore up the yard, and now it's raining, so that means more mud and I just hope the sink hole doesn't decide to just swallow up the whole driveway!

I live in the middle of town, and our driveway is just about the only gravel one there is. Actually a more appropriate word would be "sand" or "mud" or when it rains even the slightest, "lake." Makes me wonder why i even use the garage sometimes, especially during the winter.

Grrrr, of course we could just pay to have it paved over, but that would take the fun out of things now wouldn't it! And also the geese, ducks and maybe fish that probably stay there wouldn't be too happy...

lol Our landlords solution to this was to fill in with a bit of gravel. I can't wait til next winter.

Of course, maybe they wouldn't do well with cars on top of them.
