I'm a big fan of "The West Wing"... it's one of the few shows I try not to miss every week. Also like the comedy series that are out, like Daddio, That 70's show, Frasier and erg... I can never remember the name of this show... it's the one with Carrie and, and Arrgh! The husband plays a delivery guy for something like UPS and the wife's father lives in the basement. Does anyone know what show I'm talking about?
What are your favorite prime time shows? Any good plots going on? Any good shows we should check out? Please, give us the scoop! :)

We usually like The West Wing, but dh was really irritated last week when the President Bartlett attacked the Dr. Laura character and she wasn't even given a chance to defend herself. It was okay last night though. Most of the time I like it because it gives you something to think about(although like most prime-time shows it's not going to hurt your brain). Sometimes we watch The Practice, but I'm not crazy about it. I saw ER once, and vowed never to watch it again (unaccompanied children allowed to view their parents' dead bodies, a crazy person with a knife stabbing people who are left to lie on the floor with no one noticing that they're there). We also used to watch Ally McBeal, but it's just about Sex-Sex-Sex. We're married. We don't need to watch sex on TV. Lastly, we still watch Star Trek: Voyager sometimes, but I don't like it as much as I used to either. christie

I'm trying to think of one I like...ack!
I know I've seen a couple, but just can't remember them. I fear I really don't watch TV.
Does football count?

- The Simpsons
- Making the Band
- I liked Survivor...and the last half dozen episodes of Big Brother.
- The O'Reilly Factor, and Fox News in general.
That's all that comes to mind right now.
British mysteries, British comedy ("Bits of Fry & Laurie" is the best right now on BBC), and sometimes even... British drama.
These are shows that I would turn the TV especially to watch them. Otherwise I don't watch lots TV, but when we turn it on we would turn by default to watch the news and sitcoms like Seinfeld, Dharma & Greg, Friends and the like.

41 Mama do you like sci-fi in general? Have you ever watched the Babylon 5 series? I really, really like that show. It comes on (in re-runs) every night now, at 7:00 on TBS. I liked the Star Trek series with Data and Captain Piccard the best of all the Star Trek series. Have you ever seen those?
Jim - yes! King of Queens was the name! I can never remember that name. I also like 3rd rock and Drew Cary! I used to watch News Radio, but just haven't been watching it after Phil Hartman was killed. He made the show I thought.
Anat - have you watched 3rd rock? Neuman from Seinfeld plays a cop on 3rd rock... pretty darn good character too!
Hey TWT - I used to like the Survivor show when it first started. Did you think it took on too much of a mental torture tone? I quit watching it when I thought they were going too far in pushing people emotionally. I did catch the last episode though and was surprised as all get out that Richard won. Then Sue saying what she did about the other girl... ouch, no hard feelings there huh?

Blinc -- I also liked Star Trek: The Next Generation quite a bit. I got tired of prissy little Wesley Crusher and (well, I can't really think of a polite term to describe what I mean -- maybe overtestosteroned or something like that) Number One, but I really liked most of the characters. We haven't watched a lot of non-Star Trek sci fi. There are a couple of new ones we kind of like. That one with the young woman who's genetically engineered is kind of interesting, although too much violence really for me. Christie

41 mama, I didn't like the Wesley and Number One characters either. They were hard characters to form a "bond" to.
The genetecially engineered girl... "Dark Angel" maybe?
TPP, well since football IS on TV, hmm... I don't know! ;)

Yes, Dark Angel. It seems like a lot of the newer sci fi shows are dark in one way or another. The first two Star Trek shows were pretty utopian, but now shows like Dark Angel where the bad guys are the government and all that. Christie

Yeah, i used to watch the star trek shows a lot, but then the producers apparently decided to quit having good ideas that made sense, so it isn't as interesting anymore... AND, now the West Wing is on at the same time. That's not a very hard decision.

Unfortunately since I am deprived of broadband I have succumbed to watching tv again. Mostly I get stuck on the history channel for hours on end, its my favorite.
But there are a couple TV shows I like.
Dark Angel (that girl is just WOW)
The Pretender
Drew Carey
Crossing Over with John Edward
Sliders
*snicker*
Ok, they have killed all the programs I like. When I watched TV it was either, Friends, Party Of Five and my little sister had me hooked on 7th Heaven which I think is still on?
Go ahead and laugh...

I would never laugh. Having a teenage daughter I too watch 7th Heaven. It's a great family show and a good one to watch with your children. We have had some wonderful conversations that this program prompted while watching an episode. She even has me watching Dawsons Creek with her {eek}
I love the Biographpy channel, alot of the sitcoms, and I have to admit I watched Survivors. :o

Frasier!! Definitely one of my favorites. I know Daphney and Niles left together at the end of the season in May, but what happened. I haven't seen any of the new episodes

Daphne's ex-fiance is suing her and Frasier over being left at the alter. Niles' wife is demanding that they pretend to still be married "for a little while" to help her save face among her friends..... which is NOT going over well with Daphne. Daphne's brother I think is going to be a regular on the show.
Friends is still on TTP - we still watch it once in awhile.
I wasn't referring to laughing at 7th Heaven, I like that one. The other two I was worried about though, classic TV and all.
I've seen some of the re-runs, but are there any new Friends out? I might have to turn the tube on if that's the case.

ok, here I go....hope none of you are sick of me by now...LOL.... I love Friends....chandler and monica are so cute together, and also Frasier...that was so sweet how Frasier arranged for the private dinner on the roof for them, and last week when poor Niles got locked out of the roof, he was tring to be so brave.....(Hee-hee) And i also love watching Cops....thats also one of my hubbys favorites, and Alley McBeal is a can't miss show for me...I also love Everybody Loves Raymond, though my hubby says everyone does NOT love raymond....lol and I like Will and Grace, and That 70's Show too. I am also a huge As the world Turns fan, but I have to tape it, as I work days.
I like to watch The Drew Carey show. It's very funny and original. I also like Whose Line Is It Anyway?. It's cool how they can just make stuff up on the spot.
