There are things my husband does that seems to really keep our marriage healthy. I don't know if he truly realizes how much they mean to me.

One of the things he does is, everyday... sometimes several times a day, he tells me he loves me. He never misses a day... I've grown to appreciate that more and more as the years go by. It's one thing that never fails to warm my heart. Another thing is that he calls me everyday on his way home from work, to ask if I'd like for him to pick anything up, or just to let me know he's on his way home. I look forward to those calls. :)

What are some of the things your partner does that touches your heart?

I'm not married now, but I can remember some of those special connections. Like tucking me in at night sometimes. Such a silly thing, but my ex would pull the covers up to my chin and kiss me on the forehead. Or he would sometimes meet my eyes from across the room and blink several times in a row (our secret signal to say I love you). Those little behind-the-scenes every day things are the glue that really makes things sweet, aren't they?

My ex was one of those "I'll never have a dog in my bed" sort of guys, and after 18 years of marriage, he got to where he couldn'd sleep properly without at least two dogs on the bed. Used to give me a secret smile to see him snuggled up with dogs tucked around him. Mister "no dogs in my bed" !!! Hah!

My Amy works really hard to find new recipes that she thinks I will like. She really likes cooking my favorites (which she likes also).

Awww.. Ntexas that sounds so sweet. :) I love the part about "never have a dog...*grumble*" !

James - it sounds like your wife goes that extra distance to make you happy. It's those little/big things that make a huge difference!

Well my husband is a very busy man, so sometimes I take for granted the small things that he does do for me...like taking out the trash, and changing the oil in my car. I try to please him by cooking things he likes, buying him treats at the store, and telling him how special he is and how much I love him. He always replies that he loves me too, but sometimes I wish he would just volunteer it on his own!
