This thread could go into humor and internet as well, but I felt it would complement previous threads here on your favorite songs...
Here's a cute one -
http://www.kissthisguy.com/
It's all about how we sometimes listen to a song, "mishear" it and then make up the words ourselves.
Here's a few wxamples from the site:
Song: Chiquitita
Artist: Abba
The real lyrics were:
Chicateeta, tell me what's wrong
But I misheard them as:
Take your teeth out, tell me what is wrong
The embarrassing moment of revelation:
Actually, I corrected a friend of mine who was wailing his version out at the top of his lungs!
Song: How Deep Is Your Love
Artist: Bee Gees
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The real lyrics were:
Then you come to me on a summer breeze
But I misheard them as:
Then you come to me on a submarine
The embarrassing moment of revelation:
I was with a new boyfriend singing alongwith the radio, when just as I sang thewrong version for the umpteenth time,I heard for the first time the correctversion. I felt so STUPID - what musthe think.
Some Culture Club for blinc...;)
Song: Karma Chameleon
Artist: Culture Club
[quote]
The real lyrics were:
Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon...
But I misheard them as:
Comma, comma, comma, comma, comma comedian...
The embarrassing moment of revelation:
My FRIEND actually misheard this one.
We were in the bleachers during PE in grade school, singing our favorite songs, and when we got to that song, those were the lyrics she was using...
Age when I realized how wrong I had been: 12
The real lyrics were:
I'm a man, without convictions…
But I misheard them as:
I'm a man, without conditioner...
The embarrassing moment of revelation:
I was singing it at school and someone started laughing at me.
Age when I realized how wrong I had been: 10
There are hundreds of others...:D
Do you have any special ones to share - or maybe you haven't discovered them yet...?
