Are we missing some forums? Can you think of forum topics that we should add to MarriedAdults.com?

How about a world news forum, something like that? To talk about current events?

Maybe a pet forum??? Possibly a forum to blow off our steam at things that have gotten us upset, like a rants section?

I've thought about Current Events, Pets, and Rants. I just didn't know if there would be any interest. We already seem to have several threads for Current Events and Rants that we could just take from Anything Goes.
Everybody else give me a vote on those three or suggest some more.
*Gives an Aye to them all*
Those all sound interesting and I think they will be appreciated by most.

Aye! Aye! Aye!
I love all three suggestions! Great ideas! :)

Those sound great. The news one could start some good debates, everyone loves to talk about their animals, and who doesn't need to rant at sometime or another?
My vote is Aye,

Just wanted to add that I think a News area, although it may not get as much attention as other areas, would be an important area. Great place for current political debates, ongoing problems in our areas and other areas of the world. Really like the idea.
The pets forum, I can think of a half dozen animal lovers on this forum right off the bat. :) Great place to post stories about our great little buddies. Exchange info. on health and care tips. Maybe we can post photos? (I still have to learn how to do that).
Rant section... oh yeah. Life is just full of so many little irksome things, isn't it? It would be nice to have some place to get them off our chests and move on past 'em. :)

All of you have visited in the past day or two. Give me some feedback. Somebody needs to shoot us down and tell us why we're wrong. Any ideas for other forums out there?

Home: decorating, remodeling, projects. Advice on products etc.
Pregnancy: Even though it is no longer applicable to me I bet we will in the future have moms who are or they are thing about becoming pregnant.
Travel: Vacations, destinations, kid vacations, adult only vacations, recommend a bed and breakfast, hotel, city , or give your reviews of these.
Like I said just a thought.

A thought about the current events idea: Lets not turn it into a "governmental" forum, but all current events in general. Political arguments tend to turn people against each other more than anything else i know, and that's the thing i like most about this place: i haven't met one person with a negative attitude, and for me that's just what the doctor ordered. (that and some ibuprofen)

Yeah. Current events means whatever is in the news currently. Stuff like that Asian actor getting shot by the police, the events in the Mideast, natural disasters, and other things like that. There is plenty of stuff going on in the news to talk about. Some of it positive too.
The election will soon be out of the news, but you can't keep politics out of it. I guess we could have a politics forum and keep the political discussions in there.
I've considered a "Great Debate" forum where you put all of the really big topics like politics, abortion, etc. What do you think of that instead of a politics forum?

So far, we haven't had many threads started about those topics. I like them very much, but there needs to be some interest demonstrated first.
I've even thought about a Home Schooling forum, but I don't know how much interest there would be in that one either. I'd need to hear from some home schoolers who would promote it and get it going.

Okay, James. I'm off in the other world (16 hr day today), but popped over just to answer your inquiry.
Yes, love the new ideas. Specifically:
Pets
Rants
Pregnancy
Travel/Vacations
Current Events
My favorite idea was the Great Debate forum, which I think would offer an excellent place to volley opinions back and forth in a non-threatening sort of fashion. After all, it SUPPOSED to be a debate!
I would also love to see a forum about Puzzles / Riddles / Brainbreakers. Something we could add to and come back to again and again.
Another idea would be one about personal struggles, or survivors. Maybe call it something like "That was then...this is Now" or something?
I wish my brain wasn't so tired right now, or I'd try to come up with some other ideas for you. But I'll be back when I'm more rested, okay?
p.s. I'm still trying to catch up on my reading, but I've enjoyed many of the threads I've come across so far.

ntexas,
I love that idea about the surviving. We all have something or somethings in our lifes that we have had to "Overcome" or in the process of "Overcoming". What a wonderful idea to put down into words what your experience has been.
There are so many hurting people some of whom may lurk here.
This could contain overcoming in the areas of: drugs, alcohol, rape, child abuse, divorce, death, adultry, pornography etc.
Or could be as simple as overcoming: gossiping, bickering, anger, overeating, jealousy etc.
ntexas, I think you had a great idea.
CJ
Experience is the lesson.

I'm wondering if Ntexas' ideas couldn't somehow be incorporated into the "Mentoring" section of the forum? It would be like mentoring to everyone on the forum, by sharing those experiences. What do you think? There's a lot of useful things to learn by sharing those life experiences. Really would like to see them added somewhere on the forum... they are really good ideas.
I think we need a play area in which we can get really goofy! If not, then that's cool too. ;)

I think that is what "Anything Goes" is supposed to be. We seem to have moved current events, debates, etc. out of "Anything Goes." Besides with TWTCommish as moderator of "Anything Goes," it already is pretty goofy.
**ducks and runs to hide**
Oh is that what that's for? I'm warning everyone, I can get really goofy...
I'm going to go check with that admin dude, I'll be back.
Mission Impossible Theme
Ok, admin jamesglewisf says roadrunners on to something.
So I guess that means it's going to get crazy in there now...*sigh*...poor, poor TWT...
Just thought of this while I was getting ready for work. It's gonna make me late, but didn't want to forget.
How about a forum for, "Going Back To School."
Back to school?
I know there are many people out there that want to go back, but are weary on what to expect. People that have went back can give suggestions and stuff.
And people like me, could hook them up with some really good virtual classes if that is how they want to do it?
Although that may promote a certain college or something I don't know. It wouldn't gain me any profit in any way though? Hmm...maybe it's a bad idea, what cha think?
I'll put some more in after work, but *running to the door*
BTW, 200 post WoooHooo!

<<All of you have visited in the past day or two. Give me some feedback. Somebody needs to shoot us down and tell us why we're wrong.>> Well, I'm not very good at telling people why they're wrong. I think everybody's right. Pregnancy might get too gory for some, but I guess in a forum geared toward adults, lack of interest in the topic would steer those away who didn't want to really know. I'd like more in parenting but I guess I can always post. Actually today I was just thinking it might be nice to have a prayer request forum, but I suppose if you're aiming for a broad base, it might scare some off. Christie

I like the pregnancy, prayer request, education/back to school, home decoration, and travel forum ideas.
At this point, why don't we start some threads on these topics and see if enough people post to warrant new forums. You can start them in whatever forum you think is best or in "Anything Goes" if nothing fits.

I bet we have at least one talented poet among us!
What about an area where we can post what's going on in our lives? Birthdays, Anniversary, going away on vacation, etc.? Or would you prefer those announcements go into "Our Daily Thread" over in "Anything Goes"?
I've started a thread in the career area for "Back to School" if anyone is interested.

Movies and TV are the Entertainment Forum. You're right about health and fitness, although there aren't many threads on that subject anywhere. There's one in the guys forum.
