We've only just begun was the wedding song I had with my first husband, back in 1986....I have been married twice. We didn't have any music for my second wedding, we were married outside in a covered bridge...ever hear of the bridges of Madison county? Well I was married in one.(in Madison county even) That was in 1994. I have sang at many countless weddings through the years, and have sang everything from the theme to ice castles to a sara mclaughlen song.

Oh how romantic your wedding must have been. I also love the theme song to Ice Castles. I just love that movie the ending always makes me cry, even though I know whats going to happen.

We danced to The Lady in Red by Chris DeBurgh. I still can't listen to it without tearing up. Sometimes when I am having a hard time sleeping, my hubby will sing it to me! {love} He is SOOOOOOOOOO sweet!!!

We played George Winston's "Winter" CD (it's all piano) and had a friend sing another song - Wes picked it and I don't even remember what it was! We were married (second one for both of us) almost 2 years ago in our church. Right accross the street is a John Deere lot - we had a bunch of picts done there - with the "big green" in the background. :) You'd have to know us a little more to get it. :) still - it's so "us" that our family almost busted a gut laughing! Then our reception was in the basement of a friends restaraunt (where they do the majority of the town's catering) and they had decorated it like an old barn! It was absolutley hillarious! We loved it! :) It was all nice and clean - it looked good - don't get me wrong. Even my rich stuffy grandparents from Louisana liked it. (that was a suprise!) Both of us and all 5 of our kids wore cowboy boots and the boys had Tux's with tails. Wes wore his hat too. We had so much fun!!! Totally non-traditional!

Ours was " So Happy Together" by The Turtles. Super Corny!
We were really young 19 and 20 when we got married. We were a couple of "Punk Rockers" so our wedding was not all that it could've been. We did the best we could for what we had to work with. I did get a beautiful dress (on clearance) and we were married under a weeping willow tree, which I LOVE!!! The whole thing was a fiasco though...the justice of the peace showed up 2 hours late, balancing a beer on his bible!! (He had been out fishing!) Use your imagination.... it went on from there. So on our 10th anniversary, I threw him a SURPRISE wedding!!! It was sooooo coool!! He had NO IDEA and we were married by our pastor, outside with white lights everywhere. I could try to describe how BEAUTIFUL it was, but I could not do it justice. I told my husband, "The first time we were married, I looked to you to complete me and I set unrealistic expectations for you. Now I have the Lord, who has completed me. Now I want to complement you. I want to be an asset to you. To encourage you, to lift you up in prayer and to honor you" It was awsome!! He cried!! So did everyone else. Then he spoke and said " Only she and I and God knows what she has had to forgive me for. I thank God for saving our marriage and for giving me this perfect gift, my wife." He said a lot more but I think you get it. It was the best!!! And our song is Still " So Happy Together"

Sorry...this is long!!

We got married under a beautiful gazebo in the town "park" across the street from the county courthouse. Just us, our six kids, the pastor, and a married couple that's been my lifeline of friendship for years. (She was my matron of honor; he took pictures.)

We didn't have music ... but if you replay our wedding video, the microphone picked up every passing truck noise during the whole ceremony and somehow amplified it so loud it sounds like we're standing in the middle of a truckstop. You can't hear us at all!

So, I guess you could say that whenever I hear a semi engine go roaring by, I think of my husband.....Wait, that doesn't sound right. :)

FACTOID OF THE DAY: Oh, the gazebo itself is the same one used in one of the later scenes in Michael Keaton's movie, "Gung Ho."
