I get the following error when I try to send to some email addresses, but not all email addresses. For instance, I don't get this message if I send to jamesglewis@email.msn.com, but I do get it if I send it to jamesglewis@yahoo.com. Here is the message:

"This message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. Server Response: '550 <jamesglewis@yahoo.com>...Relaying denied'. (Account 'XXXXXX.com', SMTP server: 'mail.XXXXXXXX.com', Error Number 0x800ccc79')"

The XXX's are from me.

I can send the same message using my MSN email account or an account I have with another hosting company. If I use the SMTP server from my ISP, I get the same message.

It is really frustrating because I effectively cannot use my website's email address on any correspondence.

BTW, I tried using "My Server Requires Authentication," and I got the same results. It would send to msn, but not to yahoo. And yes, I have received email before I tried to send it.

I use Outlook 2000. It gives me the error message and never sends the email.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

I've been getting error 550 on some of my mail. I'm in the UK wuth the UK cable co. NTL.

After 3 months with no problems, suddenly some of my incoming mail is bouncing (I'm getting messages from list managers), some tells the sender it's bounced but gets through, some doesn't bounce but doesn't get through.

It all lists my old ISP as well as my current one - seems like a divert of some kind. I've asked them to look into it but no joy so far!

Glad I'm not in business - it would be a pain.

I seem to get a lot of bouncing mail on my yahoo account too. I've never had any other problems with my other accounts though.
