There may already be a thread like this somewhere on here, and if so I apologize and maybe a mod can merge it for me...but since I didn't see one, I wanted to start one where we can get to know each other a bit better....what do you like? Dislike? Are you married? Kids? What do you do for a living? What are your hobbies? What are your goals in life, what do you enjoy doing? I could go on and on with questions....but just tell me about yourselves. :)

You can read a lot about me on my "About Us" pages on my sites. www.marriedadults.com
www.findalink.net
www.jamesglewis.com
www.cslic.comI'm married with one kid. I'm barely in my 30's.
My hobbies include web development, writing, and photography.
My interests are varied. If you look at the content of my sites, you can get an idea of the different things I enjoy.
My father and I are partners. We own some life insurance companies. We are not agents. We are the actual insurance companies where the policies are issued, premiums are paid, and claims are processed. We each own about 45% of the company, and my siblings own the rest. My background is computer science.

Hi...
I'm married (2nd time) with a child from each. I have a 16 year old son from the first and a 10 year old daughter from this one. I've known my husband for 29 years out of our 35 years of being on this planet. I've been a sahm for about 11 years.
My interests are fiddlefarting with the computer, writing poetry, painting, camping and adventuring with my family and collecting. I collect old Coke bottles, coins and paper money from around the world, Bald Eagle items (figurines and such) and anything with the United States Flag on it. Within the United States Flag collection, I lump in The Bill of Rights, The Constitution ( I have old parchament copies of both) and knickknacks considered antigue Americana.
I'm an avid Paint Shop Pro 7 & 8 user, making tags, calling cards and all the graphics for my forums and personal website.
I don't drive. I love baseball. I have a green thumb. I should stop bringing strays home, but I can't. My hair is to my butt.I like Rob Zombie...and Static-X...and country music. My favorite color is red.
I'm a Pisces. I'm a mountain person as opposed to an ocean person. I like cobalt glass and the only alcohol drink are margaritas. I always try to make a topnotch effort in whatever I may be doing. I drink Dr. Pepper almost 24/7. I have over $400 worth of adventure and RPG games but I quit cold turkey and haven't bought one in over a year. I think that no matter who you may be, you deserve to be treated with respect.
I don't like potty mouthed kids, parents that never say yes, my nose, bluebonnet pickers, animal cruelty, pizza sauce or coffee.
That about covers it .

Okay, I've got to ask...what is a Sahm and a bluebonnet picker? I have never heard of either. I don't get out much! LOL :D

sahm = stay at home mom
bluebonnet picker = The Texas State flower is the blue bonnet and even though they you're allowed to pick a "few", I don't like them being picked at all, but it's not really the people that do just pick a few...it's the one's that go everboard and grab handfuls.

Lemme see..
I enjoy wasting time on the internet and wasting time watching sports on tv. I like good books and I'm a news junkie. I also seem to enjoy procrastinating.
I dislike violence, pollution, and liars.
I'm a student. With any luck I be at the University of Minnesota next year with around 35-40 credits built up.
My hobbies include complaining, ;) surfing the net and long walks in the woods.
Sometimes it is best to set attainable goals. Some of these goals of mine include getting up in the morning - usually attained, eating three meals a day, and having real life conversations every once in a while. Also, it's good to set lofty goals at times. My lofty goals include graduating from college, an end to racism and sexism, and world peace. Also I would like to be around to see warp drive. Someday I might even be President - it's not that far off, a few e-voting machine bugs and dimpled chads will do it.
I enjoy fighting for truth justice and the american way (and periodically singing the Canadian national anthem just to mix things up a bit). I also enjoy eating popsicles, but not blue. Those are just weird. Finally, I enjoy french fries and french toast, which are NOT called "freedom fries" or "freedom toast." But I don't like those little French hors deorve things, nor am I ashamed of the fact that I can't spell that.

lol, no problem! That was one of the first acronyms that I ever learned because it applies to me.
I felt the same way when I was visiting another board and noticed that everybody was signing their posts and replies with "TIA". I started a whole new thread about it not being possible that so many people would have the same name at the same place and wasn't it odd that they all capped it. I felt like a big dope when I learned that it meant "thanks in advance" . {rolleyes}

I am married. Felt like getting that out of the way. There is not much I don't like and a few things I dislike. I dislike loud and obnoxious people. I dislike the crowds at Wally world.
I absolutely love my flower garden and my backyard. I love my children and think they are the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me.
I work full time. I have 3 jobs. Not counting my job as a mom and wife. I love going to Cowboy Church and surfing the internet. I am also a student studying phsychology. I love working out at our local gym.
So hi to you all and nice to meet you.
those french things are spelled just like they are pronounced "Horse Doovers"
justl like that little round steak the French called Fill it Mig non.
See? Easy!

Just like I couldn't figure out that "BBQ" and "barbecue" were the same thing until I was like 14! Now that was a revelation.
And to think, my uncle a few blocks away is a chef. I think "Oregano" is a song, not a spice. (Know which song I'm talking about? Or am I way off in the woods here and will have to give a link...?)

HU????? You got it all wrong.. Oregano is a state in the US! Silly man! Yanno... kind of south of the west coast of Canada.
Geesh... thank goodness I corrected him - before he looked foolish! {dizzy}

I answer to Mel (it's short for Pamella, 'cos I say it is). {dizzy}
I was born and raised in the UK. I meet the love of my life online (via a forum, not a dating service or chatroom) about four years ago.)!{couple} We married on May 22nd (this year) in the UK, and I emigrated to New Zealand, his home, five days later. {lovesick} We had our marriage Blessed in front of Kiwi relatives and friends last weekend. {love} I had to share the reception for the Blessing with a widescreen television that was showing a live rugby match. I lost, the television won, and so thankfully did the All Blacks (what a bad omen if they had lost)!
We moved into our first house together two weeks ago.{house} It is steadily turning into our home rather than our house, although as this is a stop gap measure before we buy our own house (waiting for the UK property to sell), we can't make changes to the decor and so on.
I am currently not looking for employment, I am still adjusting to life over here, and thouroughly enjoying be a housewife. Previously I worked in retail, I've been running petrol staions for the last nine years, worked in a supermarket before that. I've had my fill of retail now, it's a thankless task and if I do look for work, I will hopefully look in a different area.
We do not have children yet, but hopefully our time will come before too long.{xfingers} We do have a couple of fur-babies, two four month old kittens, as yet unnamed (we've only had them a week).(o:
My main hobby is Formula One, and until two months ago I had never missed watching a race live, and had seen most qualifying sessions too. Now I am discovering just wht Formula One isn't a big thing in NZ - it starts at midnight on a Sunday. Grr.{frusty}
I also enjoy spoiling my nieces, although that isn't so easy from afar, {read}reading (mainly biographies), {chef}cooking (poor hubby), and watching most sports so long as I understand them. I don't understand golf and cricket - nothing seems to happen, and the scoring is bizarre.{sleeping} I don't fully understand rugby yet either, but at least I can see stuff happening, and people are always willing to explain (in Mel termingology) what is happening, and why.
I spend far too long online, although since we are sharing a PC at the moment, and we are newly-weds,{love} that time is less than it used to be. I talk too much. {blush}
I also like milk, which is just a really lame excuse to use this smilie. {madcow}
*smile*
Mel :)

Let's see.
I am 26 years old, in October I will be married for 10 years. I have 3 children who keep me on my toes!
I am a front end supervisor at a grocery store, part time, evenings.
I play the fife in a Fife & Drum Corps. I cross stitch, crochet and sew a little bit. I also do a little bit of scrapbooking. I attempt to grow a cute, if not always yeilding, vegetable garden every year, and throw a flowers around to make it pretty.
I have an extreme dislike for onions and a sometimes irrational fear of worms.
My goals in life: To someday wake myself out of my coma and my fear of restarting school and start taking some college courses. I would love to study meteorology.
And I want to be a much better fife player.

Even though I started the thread, I didn't actually tell about myself yet...I will be married 10 years in September and will be 39 years old in October. I have 3 children...2 of them are step-children, 19 and 14 years old, and I have a daughter who will be 2 next month! That really keeps me on my toes! I wirked the same job for 14 years until I got laid off due to the business closing, so I am now back at college again after all these years! I love animals, have a dog and many cats...and I collect Boyd's Bears.
