I wouldn't expect to get too many hits right away. I've been blogging for about a year and mine still only gets about 15-25 a day unless someone big links to it.

Active members are free to promote their own sites or companies. Members who joined solely to promote themselves will have their posting priveleges revoked and posts deleted.
Providing links to your sites in your first two posts doesn't make you an active member.

On the topic of shameless blog promotion, ;) I just found a nifty subscribe thing to add to my site - so on the off chance anyone actually cares about what I write, all you need to do to get a short daily digest of my fodder is go to the blog and enter your email address on the right-hand side. None of that newsgroup feed junk that I don't even understand :D

I haven't actually gotten one of the emails yet so I'm not sure how it looks or even if it fully works... but we'll find out!
