It's Raining .... It's Snowing!!

Yeppers, I live in the kiddy song!! Well the west Texas version of it anyway. If you don't like our weather hang around a bit and it will change. Our fall has ended abruptly and winter has blown in. Just yesterday we were up in the 70's. Right now we are under a winter advisory and the temp is 35 degrees and dropping. This light rain we are having should turn to snow by midnight. The wind is gusting around 45 mph and is bitter. I love it!!! Only thing about it I don't like will be the icy roads in the morning and they never cancel school for ice and rarely do they delay the start time. When I cleaned the highway departments office building tonight I noticed they had snow plows out and the salt spreaders. I am thinking they know something that weather bug has been telling me all day.

We woke up to a winter wonderland. The wind is still blowing. It is 28 degrees and the windchill is 11. Not the coldest we have been. It sure is pretty outside. It is suppose to snow off and on today and some tomorrow. My Granny would have said," it is colder than a well diggers bottom."

Yikes! Here in Del Rio, it's 50 degrees and windy....feels like a cold hurricane almost! I'd love to have some snow though!

Tomorrow the forecast says we should be 54 by late afternoon. *L* Right now it is still snowing and still very cold and very windy.

Wow... the most snow I've seen here so far is a couple stray flakes. Lots of rain lately though.

Our average rainfall this year has been high. We are usually a desert. So when we have wet summers, a wet winter is sure to follow. Plus we don't have autumns. We get maybe a month of fall like weather and then BAM!! we are into winter. Same with spring.

It finally quit raining here in Dallas. The low tonight will be in the 40's, and then if the forecast holds up, we're supposed to have nothing but blue skies through the weekend.

And blue skies here yesterday were a welcome. Snowdrifts everywhere. My girls are loving it. We had our road bombarded with teenagers yesterday. They followed my 15 yr. old home just to play in the snow. It was fun to watch their snowball fight. But I will take our blue skies and warmer temps anyday. The sun is back!!!

It's getting cold here ! Not cold cold, but it certainly isn't summer any more! I can't wait for winter - then spring will be next!!!
