February 9th was the beginning of the Chinese New Year. {party} (http://misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=0#) {partyb}{party}
That morning while starting the car I heard a rooster. I love that sound. While taking our daughter to school the radio was talking about the new year and how it is the year of the rooster. I thought how odd as I had just heard the neighborhood alarm clock crow and had no clue a new year had begun for this culture. I have been meaning to look that up but this whole week has just about been fired for me. But this morning I thought about it again when I heard that rooster again.
According to what I found out this is Lunar Year 4703. The Chinese New Year is based on their zodiac. It started with one of their emperor's in 2600 B.C.. You are a rooster if your birthdate falls on one of these following years,1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, and 2005.

Here is a link for a bit more information on the Rooster personality. I think this whole think is interesting. I love reading the placemats at the China Buffet we go to.
