I am so jelous. I am talking to my friend on ICQ as I type this...she is four months pregnant. This is all she is able to talk about...understandably! My husband and I have been trying since the beginning of the year on our second. Our first just turned two...and we would like to have our kids fairly close together. Both he and I have sisters and brothers serveral years apart, and find it a little hard sometimes. The doctor says just keep trying, since our daughter was a oops - unplanned! If by this time next year we are still having problems then he will run some tests. Until then just relax and have fun! I am so jelous!

Oh coolchic, bless your heart. My first was a oops also as was my second. It seems when we just relax things fall into place. I'm sure it will happen for you soon. One of my Aunt's tried for years to become pregnant and eventually they adopted, then low and behold, about 7 months after that she came up pregnant. Seems once she got her mind off of it she was able to conceive.
Hang in there and have fun trying {toothy}

Just have faith Cool chic...It'll happen for you.
Sometimes it seems like nothing happens the way the you want it to when you plan it....but when you are not expecting it, 'BANG!'....It happens.
Maybe if you don't 'try so hard'....I don't know. I'm just trying to help, but I really don't know what to say.
I have six children, and the only one I planned for, was the last one.
I will pray for you and your hubby....just as I'm sure everyone else in here will!
keep faith and pray everyday.

It has finally happened! I just found out last night that we are expecting baby #2!!
Last Wednesday I had a fall...a silly one. Kneeling on the counter in the kitchen trying to get a blind off the window to wash it and went to step down on the chair and slipped. Down I went. I ended up bruising my side and my arm. Nothing hurt too terribly bad at the time. Over the past two days I have had some pain in my lower abdomin. And was a few weeks late. So we decided to get a home test. It turned out positive. Worried, I went to the walk in clinic in our area...turns out the pains have nothing to do with the fall...instead it is a bladder infection. They gave me a perscription which is supposed to be safe for baby and I. I am told this is fairly common with pregnant woman!?! I am still worried ( but not letting it bother me too bad ) I can't wait until I can see my regular doctor sometime during next week to get his opinion.
We are pretty excited here! After 9 months of trying I am hoping all will be fine.

I am so very happy for you Cool Chic! Now I am the one who is jealous! lol. :) I would love to have a child, but I am 35 now, and my husband has two children of his own, and isnt really wanting any more. I don't know if I will ever have any. :( I certainly don't want to wait until I am as old as my mother was when she had me!! (46) So I guess maybe it wasnt meant to be....but congratulations to you!!! Keep us informed of how it goes!!

Hiya Cool C,
Boy am I hapy for you! Congrats, congrats. Your life has now officially changed forever for the better :)
Isn't that an awesome feeling - to all the sudden discover you are with child? Suddenly, everything you do and say becomes sacred in that you are not doing it soley for or by yourself. You gain a special status in society as a pregnant woman - people become kinder, and even solicitious. Enjoy this wonderful time.
Girl, I fell GOOD a few times while I was pregnant too {blueblob}. I went years without even tripping much and as soon as I found out I was prego, I started slipping down the stairs, getting combative patients (one came THIS close to nailing me in the stomach at 5 mos. {eek2} ) (Don't work in an ER while with child!) Unless you start having severe abdominal cramps and or spotting, don't sweat it. You have a LOT of padding there - more than you realize. You will be fine - but quit climbing up on counters!
UTIs aka Urinary Tract Infections do occur during pregnancy. I have a feeling that yours may be induced by, ahem, trying to concieve. Not to worry - I'm sure the antibiotics your MD prescribed you are very safe for you and baby. It is good that you are concerned, you should always be. I also had a few UTIs during my turn and my little boy is just fine. HOWEVER - as soon as you suspect that you might have a UTI, call your OB/GYN. Reason being, a UTI left untreated can cause a miscarriage or later in pregnancy, pre-term labor. I am not sure why - have always wondered about that myself. Now that yours is being treated, you have nothing to worry about. ;)
Keep us posted as to how things are going for you. About this time last year was when I found out I was pregnant, so I can comiserate with you as you go along.
Take it easy, best of luck - oh one more thing - I do have a suggestion for you - get your hands on a copy of "WHat to Expect When You're Expecting." Excellent book, guides you thru pregnancy and labor. It was my 'bible' last year!
So happy for you! Welcome to motherhood!
Love,
mm

Thankyou all for all the kind words!
I had an appointment with my regular doctor today. He said everything is great. There was no sign of the bladder infection in my tests today (which he said was great!) He told me not to worry about the fall - everything should be just fine. I have an "early" ultra sound appointment for Thursday. This is to ease my mind (about the fall!!) and to also try and figure out how far along I am. The doctor figures about 9 weeks!
I can't believe how the memories of my pregnancy with my daughter are flooding through my mind now! I was so lucky with her...my pregnancy was "too" easy (that's what the doctor said!!) And labor was a breeze! I am soooo excited!
I will keep you all posted!
Once again, Thankyou!
