I'm not upset, but I just want to give you guys some perspective on linking to smilies on other sites.
As the owner of a site with smilies, mine are all protected on the server from hot-linking because every time another site links to one of my graphics, it costs me server bandwidth. Server bandwidth = money. Since I pay for FrappyDoo with my own money, I like to preserve bandwidth. Most forum or site administrators don't like it when you hot link their graphics. It would be better if you didn't. I've never really made a rule about it, but it has never been as rampant as it is right now.
All of the off-site smilies that you hot-link to in your posts are fun, but eventually they will no longer work. They will get deleted off the other servers where you found them or the other sites will close or change their layout so that the links don't work. When that happens, FrappyDoo will be full of little boxes with red X's in the middle of them. It might be better if you stick to using smilies from FrappyDoo and request new ones (http://frappydoo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3027) when you want them. Right now our list is at over 200 smilies, so it is not like we don't offer a good selection. I'm pretty responsive to requests for new ones.
