The idea for this thread was taken from 'another place' I used to frequent...it went over well there so I thought I might try it here also.
Besides, everyone eats...right?!

We all have our favorite comfort foods...the dishes that make even the darkest of days seem bright and warm.....what are your favorite comfort foods?

mine?

meatloaf & homemade mashed taters
really super red hot chili with saltine crackers
spaghetti with homemade meatballs

ok....there are some of mine....let's see yours!!

Comfort foods. I would have to say mine would be rolls and mashed potatoes, no gravy.

Oh dang those donuts!!! One good thing about working in the bakeshop, I don't crave donuts nearly as much as I used to! Especially when I've had to make the donuts. Blinc, next time I make them I'll send you down a box!!!

Lasanaga! Yum.

Overall for me it's something "portable" in a sense, that I can eat on my lap if need be in front of a movie or TV show - it's not just a comfort food, it's part of an entire relaxing experience...hopefully! :)

I, being a computer programmer, love hot pockets. They're pretty good, and very quick/easy. I love most things Italian - lasanaga, ziti, speghetti, and something we call pepporoni cassarolle (elbow macaroni, speghetti sauce, melted mozarella and pepporoni...or drop the pepporoni for "chees cassarolle").

Other than that - not a whole lot. I like most basic foods I suppose. Frozen pizzas are pretty cool. In terms of desert, I highly favor frozen/cold desserts. Ice cream cake, ice cream, sherbet, popsicles, etc.

What a great thread!!! I'd have to say my favorite comfort food is Pizza Hut Pizza!!! It's comforting for two reasons....first of all because I love it, and secondly because it means I don't have to cook!!!! (Chinese take out is another comfort food) ;)

Good chicken soup for the soul ;)

all sorts of creamy rich soups with extras. Also excellent breads with butter. Oh, and rich chocolate ice cream, preferably Haagen Daaz with tons of hot chocolate fudge...

The best comfort food for me is, by far, clam chowder. Homemade! When Iwas little my grandparents had bay property and we would dig our own clams and my grandfather would make his special clam chowder over an open fire. The recipe I use is a guesstimate at his as he never had an actual recipe. My husband and I have had a lot of fun playing around with it. It just always makes me feel warm and safe inside. Boy, sure wish I could get some of that in Russia:)

Mmmmmmmm........I love really good garlic bread. Not too much garlic and not too much salt...OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOh *loves bread*

I also really love me some good coffee. Preferably hazlenut and french.

Chicken Noodle Soup is great too...with good crusty bread that's been toasted.

I seriously have an addiction towards salad...preferably honey mustard dressing.

Apple crisp is great....*drools*

Really good cheesecake. Oreo Cookie cream pie. I love dessert.

Whipped cream and straw berries. Snickedoodles...

Shrimp, crab, lobster, mussel, just about any other kind of seafood I can get my mouth around.
