I should tell you that, in China, Coke and Pepsi are both popular. And maybe Coke pervades more than Pepsi. As for me, both are good.

Not good enough ... you have to pick one.

It's the battle of the Sodas. May the burps be with you.

Ha! You almost made me snort soda out of my nose.

I picked Seven-Up.

I picked Sprite. Soda is bottled regionally. In this part of the country, 7-up tastes like dirt. Ask anyone if you don't believe me....and I will testify. {smash}

And for some weird reason Pepsi around here has a moldy after-taste, no matter where you get it from ... {fonzy}

Have you tried it elsewhere and liked it?

Gourmetmisse

I have only tried 7-up here. I know I don't care for it, so when I'm on the road I always order Sprite, since I know I like it. So...7-up might taste like dirt everywhere, but I have only been burned by it here. You should try them blind side by side and let me know. {cool}

jamesglewisf
05-27-2005, 12:12 AM
I can tell the difference between the two blindfolded. Sprite is a little sweeter tasting, IMO; and 7-Up has a little more of a carbonated kick to it.

In Dallas, whether you get Seven-Up or Sprite at a restaurant depends upon who they're supplier is. If it is Coke, you will get Sprite. If it is Dr. Pepper, you will get Seven-Up. If it is Pepsi, you will usually get Mountain Dew.

Are drinks like Red Bull overpriced, yet popular in the Dallas Area?

IMG! I would be finishing a pot on the west Coast right now if I were to keep up with you. I wouldn't sleep at all if I drank coffee that late! {eektext}

I do.... I am getting too old, I think. Having a new baby in the house after so many years, took about 20 years off me!

And by the way: I only drink Pepsi Max. Every day, and a lot of it.

Start a new poll -- "What's your favorite brand of root beer?"

Smiley we always got a root beer with our foot long hot dogs at Bertie May's Drive-In on Saturday nights. It is an acquired taste. My mom can't stand the smell of it all. I love the stuff. Here is a quick run down of what is in it.

What's in root beer?

In addition to sassafras flavor, root beer often has other flavorings, including anise, burdock, cinnamon, dandelion, ginger, juniper, spikenard / sarsaparilla, vanilla, wintergreen, and / or yellow dock and sweetened with aspartame, corn syrup, honey, maple syrup, molasses, and, most commonly sugar. Although originally carbonated with yeast, most modern root beer brands are artificially carbonated. Most brands of root beer contain sodium benzoate as a preservative. http://www.root-beer.org/questions.htm

Pepsi Max. Sorry.......

If I had to choose out of the poll my second favorite is Dr. Pepper. Now that is some good stuff when you want something sweet to swill down.

Funny how everyone is different, I have to have my drinks in the can (not over ice) and icy cold before I drink them. I have been known to stick them in the freezer and forget about them, too...not a pretty sight at all!!!

I never met a soft drink I didn't like....Actually, I lied. Fresca. Nasty. Worst aftertaste. Is it supposed to be grapefruit? Give me a Hansens grapefruit soda any day...or a Squirt. And I don't know if it's considered a soda, but I really love Orangina.

My favorite soft drink is definately coke. I don't know why... it's just how it is.

It's SOOOO unhealthy for me. I really need to cut back on how much of it I drink.

jamesglewisf
08-16-2006, 12:27 AM
Yeah, drinking full-sugar soft drinks regularly is not very good for you. Now, I pretty much stick to water and tea with an occasional soft drink.

I was reading in a cycling magazine today that coke drinks contribute to osteoporosis. As well as vandalising our rainforests.

Yeah, as well as diabetes, kidney stones, stomach problems, obvious dental problems, etc.

But it sure is good.

By the way: I think I'm starting to lean towards pepsi now for some reason.

Because the shopping bag with the Pepsi bottles is heavier than the shopping bag with your healthy food!
