Hello, my name is Jim Lewis. I'm you're system administrator. I own and maintain Married Adults.com. The best way to get to know me is to register as a member of The Forums and start posting questions or opinions. We'll get to know each other in the interchange.
But to get to the point, here are some things about me: I am married, but you probably guessed that. I've been married since 1994. We have one daughter.
I am a Christian, but this is not really a Christian website. There are some areas that deal with Christianity or the Bible, but most are just about the things we face every day in life.
My father and I own a life insurance company (http://cslic.com).
My hobbies include anything Internet, photography, writing, and reading.
I mentor men and teach them how to live a balanced Christian life.
My favorite sport is basketball. My favorite teams are anything Dallas.
Mexican food and pizza are my favorites.
If I won the lottery, it would be a miracle because I've never bought a ticket. But if I did win it, I would be a stay-at-home dad with my stay-at-home wife and develop websites.
I don't drink or smoke. I've never had an illegal substance.
I love to go to the movies.
After college (Baylor University), I backpacked through Europe with a friend for four months.
The point of this website is to let me do some writing and teaching. I love to discuss things and help people find answers to their questions.
That's about all I can think of right now. I'll add more later.

Wonder if we would get away with gluing the Admin's feet to the floor?
hmmmm... wonder if there's any retaliation gadgets he has stored away.
*ponders*
Hmmm.... it might be worth a try... then again... I don't like pain.
*ponders more*

Uh oh. He's on to us. Looks like he's got a mallet too!
Dang, we'll have to do the ol' sneak up from behind and massively tape maneuver! The dreaded: "SUFBAMT". Much riskier.. but the effects are much nicer doncha think? {toothy}
Ok, hold still or it's going to get stuck in your hair...ummm, Blinc...I think the term "RUN!" has never been better suited for a situation.

The hair? Aaag! Cracking up over here! {toothy}
Jim, I wanted to ask you about the backpacking around Europe. Where all did you go? How old were you? How long ago was this? Did the people seem to be ok with you being an American? Would you do it again? Sorry for all the questions... when I was about 17, that was something a couple of friends and I had thought about doing, but never did... always wondered what it would have been like.

I was 22, and it was March 1 to July 7, 1988. I went with a friend named Barry. We had a Eurorail pass that allowed us to take almost any train in Europe. We had a budget of $25 per person per day. We stayed in youth hostels, hotels, bed-and-breafast's--whichever was most affordable.
We had the large camping-type backpacks. I had three pairs of underwear and socks, one pair of tennis shoes, a belt, two pairs of jeans, one pair of shorts, three shirts, a washrag, a towel that was about 2x3 feet large, and toiletries.
My very expensive 35MM camera was stolen at the train station when we arrived on the first day, so I had to buy a new camera.
We went to every country in Western Europe except Spain, Portugal, and Luxembourg. This was before the Berlin wall was down, so we went to East Berlin and West Berlin also.
We were surprised by how friendly everybody was. The reputation of the French being rude was not true at all. The only places where tourists weren't really treated well were Rome and Venice. There were roving groups of kids that were pickpockets. Women were constantly ogled and pinched. They frequently tried to overcharge you in restaurants. Of course, there were plenty of friendly Italians; but sweeping generalizations are so much more fun. We joked that Rome would be a nice place to visit if you got rid of the Italians.
The best food all around was in Italy. The best ice cream was in Italy. The best pizza we had was from a huge stone oven in Greece, but Greece easily had the nastiest food.
What did I miss most from home? Our huge 24-hour grocery stores and malls.
I would definitely do it again.

Oh wow - that sounds like it was a wonderful experience! I've always wanted to see Rome... just so many architectual delights over there I bet!
Was the monorail pass good for a certain amount of time? Did it have unlimited trips you could make? That would be the way to go if it did.
The French not rude? Now that IS a surprise to hear. My husbands nephew was just sent over there, he's in the Navy, and I've been wanting to ask him about that when he gets back for Christmas.
I've heard Italian Ice Cream was out of this world. Hmmm... wonder what they do differently?
I'd love to go to Greece too! Australia... Ireland, England. *sigh* Wish that winning lotto number would hurry up and hit!
Sounds like you had a really rewarding experience. Makes me wish I was young all over again and had went that route. :)

The Eurail pass I bought was good for 3 months of unlimited travel.

Jim,
What does the 'f' mean at the end of your handle? My background as a programmer let's me interpret it as the hexadecimal form of 15. But, no, I don't think you are "James G. Lewis XV". :)

LOL! That's a good question.
Normally I would register as jamesglewis, but it was taken on many different places. I added the "f" just to make it a unique name that would likely be available. I think it was originally for "Findalink.net", but I don't remember.
Legend says my real name is jamesgwigglefish and that jamesglewisf is just an alias, but don't beleive it. I categorically deny it.
