Hi guys! I've missed all of you...we did find a neat condo in a high-rise or I should say mid-rise (8 storys instead of 25) in the downtown Galleria area of Houston. So I am glad that is behind us. We will move in August 1st. We head to Midland tomorrow for the rest of the week and then to Lovington, NM for a family reunion and then back to the ranch Sunday and on to Houston Monday...makes my head spin just thinking about it, but taking it "one day at a time", makes it all seem much more doable (is that a word?...lol)
I plan to get my new computer for Houston ordered in the next couple of days, so I can get back to my Frappydoing on a more regular basis in a few weeks. Hope ya'll don't forget about me!!!
One thing I can say for Houston is it is the friendliest town in Texas, I do believe. Ray and I were both pleasantly surprised at just how nice and friendly everyone is! That sure helps make this transition easier. We do plan to be back here at the ranch nearly every weekend, it's about a 4 1/2 hour drive, so not too bad!
Ya'll take care, I'm sure looking forward to things becoming somewhat normal again, real soon (I've almost decided "not normal" must be our normal...lol)

So why the move to Houston? I would miss my wide open spaces of west texas and a sky bigger than any you find anywhere else. Their gonna make a city girl out of you yet Beckaroo!!
We did miss you. Kinda slow this summer in here though. Our trip to San Angelo got postponed til first of August. But I still would have had to miss Mr. Allen. Work, work, and more work.
I can't get over you wanting to live in a condo. Sounds like a fence to me.

JAW, I had posted about this move earlier on one of the other threads, guess you missed it. Ray was offered a CEO position for a new drilling company that is being formed and after much prayer and decision making from the both of us we decided we could do it and it would be an adventure. Ray has wanted to get back into the business since selling his drilling company in Midland. He is just too young to retire and this is about a 3 year commitment (I figure after 3 years of fighting the Houston masses, the ranch will seem plenty fine...lol) He loves the ranch, but is just too young to give up wanting to be in the business he loves so much. This job was literally dropped into our laps (the Lord is definately in this deal, it has been so cool to see how he is working in our lives). The rigs are all brand new and a whole new concept. This company will be the only one in the US for at 5 years that can even order these rigs. They will be electric...that's about all I understand on that end! lol He is so excited, and I am too, for him, he is so happy right now. It is a wonderful opportunity for us and 3 years in not all that long, really. I'm sure we will be ready to be back at the ranch every Friday, no doubt about that! They hope to grow the company, take it public and sell it. Anyway, I'm sad about not being at the ranch full-time, but it is an exciting adventure and that's just how I have to look at it. Our condo is perfect for us, the Lord has worked it all out, so I am trusting in him and I think it's all going to be okay. I even drove to the Galleria mall from our hotel (big deal for me, even if it was only 2 blocks away...lol), I don't plan to learn driving all over Houston, but where our Condo is located there is shopping all around us, so I have to at least be able to get out and get around somewhat!
I won't lose touch with you guys...can't wait to get set up and get the computer running there. I've missed FD!!! By the way, I'm a little bit City and a whole lot Country girl!!! (Even tho, I have really only been a country girl for the last 4 years, it's my love)...
All that time building your ranch house, and now you'll only be in it part time. That's a bummer. Oh well, opportunity strikes! Good for your husband!

Life's ironic, huh? It is a great opportunity for him and the ranch will be here waiting on us. But who would have thunk it...lol

Thanks JAW, I appreciate that, but you aren't rid of me that easy...lol I'll still be jacking my jaws on here as soon as we are settled in and hopefully, I don't expect that to take too long!!! {toothy}

We are only moving on the weekdays, back here at the ranch on most weekends! Yes, Ray's brother has been hired to take care of the ranch for us while we are in Houston...hope that works out okay, keeping my finger's crossed. I still hope for you to come to the ranch next Summer, my crazy life should be somewhat back to normal by then and I REALLY want you to come and see me and what a TX ranch looks like, so let's not give up on that...okay? Houston is about a 4 1/2 hour drive back to the ranch, so not too bad of a drive and pretty country to look at all the way!!!

Hanna, you are closer to us from Smithsville than 4 1/2 hours (to the ranch), so it won't even be that far for you to come to the ranch, I was talking about our drive from Houston to the ranch every weekend! So that's GOOD news!!!
