Ok, I'm a bit disturbed this morning about my pizza pick-up order. I ordered 2 pies that I would go and pick up. Which I did. The pies were ready as soon as I arrive at this pizza restaurant. I did not tip the waiter who literally just handed me the pizza boxes, as I felt I'm the one who had to come all the way to this place to pick up the pizza in the 1st place. The bill was $39.68 for the 2 pies (welcome to Hoboken NJ) and so I signed the bill and added no tip.
This morning as I'm going over my debit card bank account I noticed the waitress 'helped herself' to a 20% tip. I think that's UNACCEPTABLE.

So:
1) did I do wrong by not providing any tip for a PICK UP order?
2) what do you guys think I should do about the 'let me just write in my own tip' waitress?

ps..the pizza was tasty!

2) what do you guys think I should do about the 'let me just write in my own tip' waitress?Not sure what you can do about that, other than learn from it and only bring cash next time {fonzy}

i do have the receipt? you don't think I should pursue it? It's not about the stupid $9, but the principle of someone putting their tip in!

Take that receipt to her supervisor, maybe he can help you out. Do you remember the waitresses name?

I'd still talk to the supervisor ... It's worth a try ;)

Or better yet and call your credit card company and ask what you can do about unauthorized charges to your card.

Since you still have the receipt where you wrote no tip, contact your credit card company and then the manager of the store. You should contest the charge.

Tipping for pick up orders is not necessary.

They are not allowed to at all put anything on your bank card you need to contact the owner manager and threaten to take legal action I have been in the restaurant businees for 14 years and never ever heard of that Im soooo shocked
