Is anyone else excited about the new King Kong directed by Peter Jackson and starring Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Colin Hanks, and Andy Serkis? It is coming to a theater near you on December 14, 2005.

I can't wait. It is supposed to be really good.

I keep seeing the ad for it. I had no clue there were dinosaurs in King Kong. Might be interesting to see where they are going with this story.

Dinosaurs in King Kong?!

Oh no, not another Godzilla vs. King Kong ... {rolleyes}

I'll wait for it to come out on HBO or Showtime {toothy}

LOL! You people never saw the original 1933 version. King Kong fought dinosaurs on Skull Island.

According to legend, there was a sequence with giant spiders killing people that was cut because in the first screening too many people were getting sick to their stomachs. Peter Jackson has added it back. There's a pretty good article about it at http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10216525/site/newsweek/.

I think it should be good as long as the cgi is good. I really like Jack Black in comedies. Does he have a comedic role or a serious role in this one?

Thanks for clearing that up Grimey. I don't remember watching the original one.

Simply put... Wow! I was very impressed! It was one of the best movies I have seen, to tell the truth (but I'm not a film buff, so others may disagree).

The special effects were well done. I don't think dinosaurs were as realistic as they were in Jurrasic Park, but King Kong was very believable. Especially since he acted like an ape, and not like an actor in a monkey suit. By the end of the film, you actually feel emotionally attached to the beast and caught up in the "love story".

It is three hours long, but it did not feel like it. I've seen 90 minute movies that felt longer. It moved at a good pace and there were plenty of action scenes mixed throughout to keep the story from dragging.

You know the ads for this movie keep me "there". I am really wanting to see this movie now. Especially with all the specials they have had on it and how the ape become so life like.

I saw King Kong on Tuesday night. I thought it was excellent. Jack Black was probably the only weak part of the movie, and he was still OK. Kong did look very good.

Hate to hear that about Black's role. He was hand picked for it.

This was an AWESOME movie that, unfortunately, was overshaddowed by the publicity surrounding Brokeback Mountain. Even though King Kong's ticket sales were much higher, it didn't receive the hype, or awards, that I felt it deserved.

I hope this goes down as a classic that we see on TV for years to come, because it is such an awesome movie!

it has great special effects, but not too much of a good plot
