Do any other parents play tooth fairy for their children when they lose teeth? I got to again tonight for my daughter. My sister in law doesn't, she believes that it is lying to the child. She told her daughter there was no such thing as Santa. Is it wrong to tell our children about Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy? When I found out they weren't real I was upset but it didn't devestate me, nor did I think of my parents as liars. I understood they did it to make growing up a bit more fun and magical. I'm interested, What do you think??

Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy were fun for both my wife and myself as kids. Learning the truth didn't devestate us either. We are definitely going to extend the tradition with our daughter.
I hope your sister-in-law or her kids don't ruin it for your children. Obviously, they will find out eventually, but they might find out earlier than planned with your in-laws help.

Well my niece nearly spilled the beans once. My father in law had marked up some of their presents from Santa and told my kids that Santa had even come over there to give them some presents and she said "what Santa, mommy says there's no such thing." My sister in law did tell her that my children do believe and not to say anymore about it. I couldn't imagine growing up without Santa, he just made Christmas more magical than it already is.

My daughter is very anxious to lose her first tooth. I think the dentist gave us false hope a couple of months ago, because it is not wiggling yet.
