I really get irritated by moaners who complain about the standard of English used online. Most of the people who make mistakes are using English as a second (or even third ir fourth!) language - I only wish I spoke any foreign language as well as they speak English.

what really annoys me is the abbreviations used for words. Like LOL for laughs out aloud. I understand why it is used but isn't that mainly for when you are doing peer to peer chat? I don't like seeing it used on forums at all.

Ah, but think of the amount of typing that it saves our delicate little fingertips!

In a forum it just makes the poster look unintelligent. My opinion only but one I trust. {knit}

Do you watch any of those so called adult cartoons? I can't stand watching them. You are so right when you posted that. The Family Guy is another one that is just gross.

I use those annoying little abbreviations from time to time when I'm feeling tired, lazy or just can't type.{eek} Are these funny little icons the same?????
Dreuby, I love your crawling Homer Simpson, quite fitting.
Adult cartoons? I still love cartoons, even at my age, but stuff like Road Runner, Super heroes, and that sort of thing. For a while my husband and I watched "King of the Hill" but quickly became bored. Most of them are darned right stupid notwithstanding the animation in todays cartoons is appalling. crawling Homer Simpson (no, we don't watch that either) gotta check out the icon list, haven't been around in a while
lets see whats new..................{liplick} haven't seen that one, makes me hungry.....{donut}

I don't mean the abbreviations like LOL, ROFL, or any other one like that. I mean when they spell their words like they say them. I guess I am talking about the hip hop crowd more than anything.
When you read anyone's blog that is on myspace or xanga you want to cringe at how unintelligent our younger generation comes across.
I did use the word abbreviation in my first post for this pet peeve of mine. But they are really not abbreviations are they? I apologize.

As long as we understand you, I don't have a problem with it. Besides I'm quite sure you are able to read and write well beyond and 8th grade level. No wonder "some" people can't talk. What I hate is how the standards keep getting lowered to accomodate the uninspired

So true pack momma. I love reading post that are thought out before they are posted. They are more interesting and hold my attention.

Think? Before I post? It doesn't say anything about that in the rules.
