Sitting back this Wednesday, November 22 watching the National Sports Report, i realize that there sure is a lot i have to be thankful for even in the world of sports filled with murder trials and offensive CD's and abuse of officials. Here's much fo what i am thankful for: Players like Robert Smith of the Vikings, who can complete more than 2 sentences that make sense while acting like a gentlemen; Our local USHL Hockey Coach Dan Nassdrum of the Rochester Mustangs, who, despite a 3-17 record so far this season, has kept a great spirit an dlevel of enthusiasm in his team, and who fought the last 5 years in order to keep the team here in Minnesota; for newspapers like the St. Paul Pioneer Press who had the guts to expose the Gophers basketball scandal - and without them Clem Haskins would still be boasting about his great organization; to high school sports referrees who although they rarely get thanked, continue to help America's youth to mature; and for the parents and coaches of those teams; for governors like Tommy Thompson and George Pataki and Jeb Bush who don't announce XFL games; and that the Minnesota Wild just now came out with 1 point in their hockey match, not 2 but i'll take one. I could go on so much more... So on this National Day of Thanksgiving its good to remember that there is so much to be thankful for in every Aspect of the American Way - so Lord, please let everyone remember it themselves too.
