Question:
When winning a 50-50 drawing (at a golf outing) should you "give back" some of the winnings? If so, is it expected or just a nice gesture?

My response:
Honestly, I don't know what a 50-50 drawing at a golf outing is. Just to make sure I checked with a friend who plays golf constantly, and he didn't know either. You'll have to give me more details.

Her response:
You buy tickets and all of the winnings are split 50% to the event and 50% to the winner. Most golf outings that I've attended sell these tickets. The one in question was a golf outing to raise money to send a boys ball team to Coopersville (in other words a private "charity"
event).

My answer:
I think you already gave to the charity by buying a ticket and the charity getting to keep half of the winnings.
