I prefer IE but everyonce in a while it goes down and I have to switch to netscape. Like tonight, I kept trying to post and I kept getting a page error, so I switched it over and so far all is good!

According to my stats program, something like 95% of my visitors use MS IE.
Yes. Definitely IE.
I don't like Miscrosoft as such (Windows is a terrible OS when you think about it), but IE is much better than Netscape and shows more design effects.
I think I have the same figures - almost 95% of my visitors use some version of IE.
Netscape is quite a pain really. You have to design for both which sometimes complicates your code quite a bit.
I like IE because it test out faster for me...I can download stuff faster.
About 30-40K faster to be exact...so yeah that's what I use.

I ignore NS and code for IE only.

According to CNET News, arond 86% of all web surfers use Internet Explorer.
You want to know what bugs me? People who use Netscape just to be different, or because they hate Microsoft. If you don't want to use it, it's your business, but don't use NS to try to "make a point" - I don't think Bill Gates will feel it. :)
I like Opera and IE, i cant stand NS.
As a webmaster - I really don't like Netscape.
I'm having major trouble with my new ASp site in Netscape. My poor programmer is spending days and nights trying to make it NS compatible.
I find it quite amazing that NS is so unforgiving code-wise. IE will usually get what you're trying to do, even if you forget a closing tag.

TWTCommish - I see you've met my husband! He won't use MSIE onprinciple (he thinks Bill is spying on us all) but moans like mad about NS6.
I prefer IE - it loads quicker, and I like the easy access to history, passwordds, etc. But it does have odd bugs - mine went down fo a week not long ago. I re-installed, downloaded, haunted the MS support site, I was just about to re-install Windows, when it just started working again. Anyone else had that, or is it me?
I'm not just saying this to be contrary but I much prefere Netscape. Different to most of you I find NS shows my page the way it was designed while MSIE comes out different.
Dont laugh but I have designed all my web pages, about 20, using the old text editor in X-tree Gold, so it is not designed for any particular browser.
Also different to what most of you say, my Home Page will load soooo much quicker with NS than with MSIE.
Having said that, can anyone tell me which files I should copy to save my Bookmarks and Address book when I reinstall NS. I do get more page faults with NS than with MSIE and I want to reinstall it in the hope of fixing it.
Thanks.

Maybe your page looks different in Netscape, but overall I have yet to see a site that had viewing problems in IE without having viewing problems in Netscape - IE supports more standards.
IE also, statisticly, displays more pages correctly than Netscape.

Microsoft vs AOL
What kind of choice is that?
I really wish there was a 3rd contender out there because I'm not fond of either company.
But if I have to pick, I'd go with IE.
Someone recently told me that if a foreign country forced MS Windows upon us, it would be declared an act of war. I chuckled. :) But if you are coding, you can't ignore the majority of your potential customers.

Oh yeah. Try going to msnbc.com with Netscape. You'll get nowhere. :)

Actually, Opera is making a name for itself around here.
You can check it out at http://www.opera.com
I think all it is, is IE w/ some modifications...{rolleyes}
It claims to be fast, I myself haven't tried it...might have to though.

Actually Opera is totally original - it just renders pages more like IE in most ways than Netscape - overall it's rendering is as poor as Netscape's, but it doesn't freeze up as much and has some other cool features.
Something truly funky happened with IE on this computer of mine, so I am forced to (on this computer, at least) use Opera - using it right now in fact.
It's not too bad - thankfully one of it's best features is something IE 6.0 will be semi-imitating (might have been in the works for awhile).
I personally like IE much better. It seems to load up sites quicker than Netscape. It also seems to support CSS, etc. much better. Opera is ok, I don't like how they dispaly an ad at the top of the browser in the latest version.
