I am asking cause I feel sorta bad now. I live in a mobile home park. One of the nicer ones in the area. Well, at all hours of the night and day, we could count on a convoy of all sorts of low-flying Army helicopters from the Army base about 30 miles away. And by low flying, I mean so low you could see the lug-nuts on the wheels. I am talking, Apaches, Blackhawks, Cobras, Chinooks, Hueys and what not. Some days I work split shift, so I come home to sleep. Well on Friday, I had JUST fallen asleep, and 5 Apaches come flying over head. I look out the window, and it looks like if they were flying any lower, they would have caught their wheels on the power lines. Well, I called the regional FAA director. Today, he called me back and told me the Commanding Officer has rerouted them. I was primarily thinking about my sleep, but I hope I saved the neighbor hood from potential disaster. I mean can you imagine what would happen if one of those helicopters crashed into the neighborhood at the speeds they fly at??? Was I wrong in calling the FAA???

They shouldnt be flying that close to peoples houses, etc!!

YOU HAD EVERY RIGHT TO COMPLAIN!!! (I hope it works)

Trouble with the world today is: NOT ENOUGH DO COMPLAIN WHEN SOMTHING IS NOT RIGHT!!

Good for you :)

The minimum here over built-up areas is about 1000 to 1500 feet, apart from one or two places where they are specifically used for practising low-level flying, and they are areas of quite small populations.
