Howdy,

I'm new here. Found this place because my oldest kiddo moderates the Teen section here, and you know how parents like to follow their kids around and harass and annoy them and keep tabs on them and embarrass them in public.

So, here I am. :)

Dunno what the protocol is for saying hello, but here's a quick bio:

I'm 39, recently remarried (summer of '99), and we have six kids between us (four mine, two his). Four of them are teenagers. Although I've spent many years in the publishing industry, mostly doing proofreading copyediting, and also typesetting, I'm now home full-time and trying to jump-start a freelance writing career while homeschooling my four kids when they're here.

I think this site looks very upbeat and positive, which I need more of in my life! (The colors are great, by the way.)

Please settle a little family "argument," though, Mr. Moderator: Is Frappy Doo really the name of Scooby Doo's cousin or uncle or great-grandson or something? The family is split right down the middle on whether there is a Scooby connection here or not. (We all know about Scrappy Doo, but were wondering about Frappy Doo.)

Thanks ... and again, hello!

Linda

Karen,

Our combined kids are three and three as well: My husband has one of each, and I have two of each. I consider my cat, Hershey, the tie-breaker. :)

Yeah, I'm Christopher's mom. Just don't ask him to admit it. :)

He's a cool kid -- He's one of those teenagers that you just know will make a great adult "friend" and yet your child once he grows up (which should be any minute now).

Thanks for the welcome!

Linda

Sorry, the FrappyDoo! legislature passed the December 5 deadline prior to your request, and the FrappyDoo! Supreme court is holding me to it.

Proofreader to the Starz®? Does this mean you are going to be correcting all of our spelling errors? :)

Wel, we will be vary carefull about our speling and gramar then so that you won't half two much worck on yor hands since we al know how frstrating it can be whin someome makes all kinds of typos and if someone uses run-on sentenses that kan be very anoying allso. ;)

Oh, and by the way, it is Mr. jamesglewisf to you. LOL! Seriously, everybody calls me Jim. It is great to have you here.

Hello Austruck! This is something else, to have Chris's mom on the forum too!

Hey Chris, hee hee is this like having your mom being a chaperone at your prom?
*poke*

Hey, if Chris acts up, I can just tell you stories about changing his diapers and stuff. That'll keep him in line.

Jim,

I think I saw a hanging, pregnant, dimpled chad on that FrappyDoo! ballot. Can we have a mandatory hand re-re-recount until we get the results I like?

Well, by the time I get this hashed out, it'll be Dec. 5 anyway, so I'll just have to wait, I guess.

Thanks for the welcome. Lots to look at here -- but I have to do some (late) writing first.

L.

Yes, she's my mom. Fun for all of YOU I suppose. :)

It's not that bad - it's worse when she comes over to a site I RUN and reminds me to come down for dinner...ugh.

Hi Linda! You were right, this place IS better. :) {glblob} Like the faces!

You've been a great friend and I DID read your articles and rate them! Keep them commin! They're great. We have had trouble with a belt sander before too - my dad's re-finising his floor. Besides, Wes in a carpenter. Plenty of "power tool" stories to tell!

Well, Hi and I'll see ya arround. {mario}
