I chose this for the recipe of the day, because it is fast, easy, delicious and the perfect fall/winter dessert!
Preparation: 5 minutes
Cook: 20 minutes
Servings: 6
2 cans (15-1/4 oz each) Del Monte Sliced Yellow Cling Peaches in heavy syrup
1-1/2 cups of coarsely crushed gingersnaps
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/3 cup sliced almonds or chopped walnuts
Drain fruit; arrange in greased 8" by 8" baking dish.
Mix together cookie crumbs and butter. Stir in nuts.
Sprinkle over fruit.
Bake at 350 degrees F., 15 -20 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, frozen yogurt or whipped cream, if desired.
Variation: Divide fruit and topping among six 8 ounce baking cups.
