Free Email Accounts

If (and I mean a big if) we had free web-based email accounts, would anybody be interested? Would you actually use it?

You could have any name available, such as yournamehere@frappydoo.com or yournickname@frappydoo.com.

You would access it over the web like hotmail, Yahoo mail, etc. There would be a login at Frappydoo.

I would! I would just have to cancel one of my other 4! But I definetly would.

I would use it, no doubt!
then maybe these email notifications wouldn't overrun my inbox every morning.
Not that it's a problem or anything....It's just that I get like 80 emails a day...that's all.

It would be a totally private account right? No way anyone could get ahold of our addresses and spam us right? Well, I mean it's not like the addresses would be public... this isn't being worded well on my end, but hope you get what I'm wondering about.

If the addresses won't be made availabe without our ok, then yes, I'd be interested. I could dump my hotmail account... the thing is, I've got a feeling that address is made public somehow, because it's getting spammed like crazy too. I've heard from several other people who have hotmail accounts, that the same thing has happend to them.

I had that happening to me when I first got my computer...for like the first two or three months.
I haven't had spam mail since then....that was two years and some odd months ago.

just what she needs. another account...the one we have is filled up to the hilt everyday.

Maybe Karen could use one just for forum business and the other one for personal... it might work better? Or you think she's gonna have them both filled up? {toothy} I try using seperate accounts for different things... the problem is trying to remember to check them.

I can't have a bunch of accounts, because I do sooooo much on the internet, I would lose my mind having all that separate information!
I will use this one if Jim sets it up though.

Sounds like a good idea - now we can get free access in the (backward) UK. I never used my web-mail account as I was still paying for every second online, now I don't have that worry I could do with one.

That's the feedback you need - how many people are in places where web-based mail works out too expensive?

I'm usually not a big fan of web-based email, but if I could get something like dave@frappydoo.com, then I'd be interested, for sure.

In all honesty I probably wouldn't use it too much. (Every time I try to switch email accounts there are atleast ten friends that somehow didn't get my message saying so, then I have angry people yelling at me when I run across them in the 'real world.')
I would however use it for notifications from frappydoo.
In other words, it would not be my primary account.

Might a good idea as an Option for Members who have more than 500 posts (Like custom title)

For example when i hit 500 posts i would then be able to request it,something like that :)
