The idea behind mentoring is multiplication. I mentor two men and teach them to basics of how to live a balanced life. Then they mentor two men and so on. Of course, I don't stop at two; I just don't mentor more than two at once.

I haven't done any mentoring in my life, it is something I would love to do though. Maybe I have actually...doesn't everyone kinda mentor whether they know it or not?
Lead by example and gain respect? Guess that's not really the question here. The multiplication theory sounds like a good one.

You're right, TTP. You don't have to have an official program to be a mentor. Some people just do it naturally. They take people under their wings and help them to mature.

In my opinion, mentoring is something that a person does out of their heart to help another. When you are able to help one person, they feel strong about themselves, therefore they can help another! It's great how the chain of good deeds works.

And just remember that everyone needs a mentor...even a mentor needs a mentor! Does that make sense!?

Ah yes, exactly.
I find the organised idea of 'mentoring' kinda pathetic, in a way, but in the sense Kristen put it, it's a fantastic thing.

Well thank you!

That's how mentoring should be! Not an obligation but a want to help others!
