Carry out tipping
when I go to a restaurant to pick up a carry out order - sometimes just walk up teriyaki or carryout at regular restaurant, I usually tip per entree - like $1 per person I am ordering for- the counter person usually seems pleased, but I am beginning to wonder. My favorite teriyaki palce has a tip jar and I don't see many people dropping anything in. What about like at Cheesecake Factory curbside service where the waitress has to actually bring your order out and then go in and out again to make change or charge? I usually do $2 or more there depending on # entrees. I have always assumed that carry out people get ignored, but now I am wondering if I have been a cheapskate? These amounts probably represent between 10-15%

I personally don't think you need to tip anything. I worked in a restaurant for 5 years and never expected a tip for takeout. Tipping is for people who take your order, bring your food, keep your drink refilled, etc.
