Entertainment News

Tim Burton is in talks with Warner Bros to do a new big screen version of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Of course the first version was done in 1971 with Gene Wilder as Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Heard any other movie rumors lately?

If anyone could make that movie, it would be Tim Burton. He turns out some wild stuff.

Did you hear about Robert Palmer dying? I liked some of his stuff, but he sure made an impact with that "Addicted to Love" video.

Donald O'Connor - the Singing in the Rain star - died also.

I liked some of Palmer's songs, but most of his stuff didn't do anything for me. I don't think he would have been as popular without the video.

Donald O'Connor was talented. That one dance scene in Singing was pretty incredible.

Did you hear about the magician Roy getting attacked by one of his tigers?
Quote:
Magician Roy Horn, who was attacked and mauled by a white tiger during a performance here Friday night, was recovering in critical condition late Saturday after neck surgery, hospital officials said. But a shocked Las Vegas was left to wonder whether the signature act of Siegfried & Roy would ever be seen again on the gambling mecca's glittering resort strip.

That would have been a wild show to be at. I hope there weren't kids in the audience.

Peter Jackson (LOTR) is going to remake King Kong. He says the characters -- including Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts), Carl Denham (Jack Black) and Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) will be not be carbon copies of the originals. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...lm_kingkong_dc

NBC just cancelled West Wing effective in May. Is anyone disappointed? I never watched it.

Never watched it Jim.

We were tickled pink when 24's new season aired. I have to admit that I didn't sit all the way through it. Basically the same stuff as last season just new names to terrorize. I was hoping for something a bit different but as thrilling.

And what is up with all of the variations on the CIS hour shows. My mom watches everyone out there. I guess TV is going more in this direction or what?

West Wing - I'm with JAW. I've seen previews but just couldn't seem to get myself to go out there and watch it. Must be on when one of my other favorite shows is airing. My wife and I are deeply into the CSI's however.

Apparently, George Clooney and Brad Pitt have signed up for Oceans 13. Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta Jones did not renew.

If you haven't seen Bones on Fox it is worth a look. Different twist on the CSI shows.
