A-Rod as MVP?
A-Rod is the MVP? The Rangers stunk up the place.

I'm not sure I like a guy on the worst team getting MVP. It seems like the MVP should make a bad team better, not a bad team good enough to be in last place.

I don't really like it either. It's pretty weird that he only got picked 1st on 6 ballots. It's sounds like a lot of people were keen on him but just didn't want to give him 1st for that reason... but in the end the other contenders wiped each other out.
Texas didn't have completely horrible players... if A-rod was really mvp caliber, you'd think his presence alone would have at least some sort of a rally-the-troops effect to the tune of a few more than 71 wins.

I really don't know what MVP is supposed to mean. I think it is hard to argue that he is not MVP caliber, but is being the best player in the league good enough, or do you have to be on a winning team?
I don't think I would have voted for him. I'm kinda torn.
