I believe it was "Friends and Lovers" right before "Laverne and Shirley" and "The Bob Newhart Show" before that.

Friends and Lovers is correct.
I think The Bob Newhart Show was a guest appearance.
She was a regular in The Odd Couple.

I keep thinking Paul Simon off the top of my head, but I'm not sure if that's right, he keeps coming to my head though. Come to think of it, that may have been the second show. I don't know why I know that.

He may have been the musical guest, but he wasn't the host.

I went and looked it up, he actually was the host and musical guest on the second episode. I found out who the first was, but I'll let someone else see if they can remember it.
