CD/DVD burners

My CD burner has packed up, and my DVD doesn't seem to want to work either! I'm thinking of replaceing them with a combo CD/DVD burner - has anyone got one, or got any opinions on them?

HP dvd840i Super Multi DVD Writer
This is the one we use dre. Hubby said he would recommend it. Here is a brief description for you.

Quickly record to all major formats: ±R/±RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R/RW
• Record double-layer DVDs at up to 8x, recordable DVDs at up to 16x, rewritable DVDs at up to 8x, and DVD-RAMs at up to 5x
• Transfer hours of video onto DVD with your PC, then show in your living room
• Back up critical files on DVD-RAM discs
• Get excellent playback compatibility on DVD drives and players
• Store more: the DVD writer is a PC personal storage device
• Give CDs and DVDs a neat, professional look without ink, pens, or paper labels: with HP's LightScribe feature, you simply burn your data, flip the disc, and burn on a precise, silkscreen-like label
• Use the included software to edit video, organize photos, create slide shows, back up data, and create personalized label designs
• Surprise family and friends with slide shows and home movies preserved on DVD or CD, beautifully labeled with your own personal touch
• Rely on HP's high-quality testing standards for compatibility and quality results
• Compatibility: desktop PCs only
