I may never return ...
My new DVD/CD rewriter has just been delivered, I'll have to install it. So if you never hear from me again, it's because I've short-circuited my entire system.

What a week! The drive was fine, but Windows has been playing up again - Stop errors; USB hub keeps vanishing and needs to be reinstalled; now my internet just keeps dropping, and Windows only gets as far as "acquiring ip address". And yesterday, all my software seemed to think it was new - all those "Welcome to program X, would you like to take a tour" pop-ups, zonealarm kept popping up for everything, asking for internet access permissions, and Firefox wouldn't even change to my theme, let alone run the extensions. Finally I gave up. This morning - everything OK, but lost internet after a couple of hours, now it's back.
I knew I shouldn't have recommended firefox on that MS IE support forum. They've probably blocked my IP.
