tipping!!

Hey everyone, I know everyone knows the gist of tipping but I'm a little concerned about a horseback ride in Hollywood that rides for 1 1/2 hours and then stops at a restaurant for an hour and then rides the 1 1/2 hours back. Also theres 14 of us on this ride. I've read the YELP reviews on it and the riders said the guide kept emphasizing how much to tip which I think is really rude, but maybe the guide only get tips. Any how, what do y'all (hahaha) think is appropriate? I'm a hairstylist so I have great tippers and some that don't tip at all, so I don't want to be one of THOSE patrons.

Outdoor guides (fly fishing, horseback riding, river rafting, etc.) - 15% of the cost of the service. Some companies have a no-tipping policy. Check when you book the trip.
